I'd like to breed next spring, and I don't know where to start, or quite what to look up.

I've done some research on the basics, like how to put the pair together, the food supply for conditioning, conditions in the water that must be met, the fry food, raising the fry.

But I feel there's more then just that.

Are there any other things I should know? Like genetics? I've been hearing about those lately. Any info on breeding would be great, and links to places with this info would be great too!

I hope to get me a pair off here or Aquabid in either February or March...probably March, I gotta cough up the money for this first, lol.

If I can't, just means more time to prepare myself.

Most breeders on Aquabid will fill you in on the genetics of their fish. There are sites with information, but can't think of one right now. Sorry. Hopefully someone else will be able to help.
