Can I do this?

Can I hang a bag of rooibos tea in my betta's tank to get some tannins in and then remove it tonight? Or will that be bad for the fish somehow?

I've heard of people using teabags but i didn't know if you could just put it in and let it slowly leach out or if it should strictly be pre-mixed.

Well as far as I know, it should always be decaf. tea... Usually people use stuff like green tea... or really any herb tea

Ok :) I believe it'd be better to put the bag into your water change bucket/bin, letting it sit until it goes dark, then add the water.... I mean for tannins i just toss in the leaf - and it slowly leaches out. I doubt either way would be harmful! :)

ooo yay! thanks for the opinion :)

I think Sidonie's going to love the amber color! I pulled an all-nighter last night so he could probably use less light coming in all the time :P

Ive used green tea in mine, and researched it a bit before putting it in.

Ive heard a lot about people using rooibos tea and it working out great, so long as there is nothing added to it, like flavors and stuff, it should be fine ^^

Awesome. How did the green tea work out? Do you use it all the time?
