What's wrong with Apollo?

I went to go check on Apollo and his fin is all torn? What's wrong? I don't have time to upload pics now, I will tommorow.

What size is your tank? 2.65 gallons
What temperature is your tank? Checking that now...
Does your tank have a filter? Nope
Does your tank have an air stone or other type of aeration? Nope
Is your tank heated? Nope, it usually is fairly warm without one.
What tank mates does your betta fish live with? None

What type of food do you feed your betta fish? Omega One Betta Buffet Pellets

What type of additives do you add to the water when you perform a water change? Water conditioner

Symptoms and Treatment
How has your betta fish's appearance changed? The edges of his tail fin is all torn, and white. The edges aren't black, but after the white outline is a really deep red outline (his fins are red). I will post pics soon.
How has your betta fish's behavior changed? It hasnt.
When did you start noticing the symptoms? Tonight.
Have you started treating your fish? If so, how? Water change.
Does your fish have any history of being ill? Just a slime coat issue when I first got him.
How old is your fish (approximately)? Maybe 2...???

Are the white parts clear-ish? Or do they have cottony growth on the edges? There are two types of fin rot- bacterial which is black, and fungus which is white. When you upload the pics, it will help determine whether it's fin growth or fungal rot.
