As a chihuahua owner (or at least having lived with them) for the last 20+ years, I can honestly tell you that they can get way bigger than you would expect. A mix could easily get to be 20+lbs or more.

Though trilobite might be right. He does look like a Kelpie. Good thing you are starting training early, they are dogs that need a job! If you adopt him out, make sure it is to an active home. They are great dogs for an active young couple. :)

Omg, he's so cute. He does sort of look long bodied/short legged. His build reminds me of my Molly basset when she was a puppy. I was thinking corgi mix but he doesn't really look like that. Dachshund mix seems more likely. He's SO cute. <3

He is adorable. I would definetly say he has some boarder collie in him, maybe even some lab. He is gorgeous

A kelpie, maybe border collie mix would be possible. I still assert that he is a little bit young to tell. I know some breeds, the more prominent facial features start becoming more apparent when they become older.

I suck at naming breeds unless it's really obvious. Even then the dog has to be nearly showdog level accurate for his/her breed for me to get it right. So, I can feel beat2020's pain. XD

What breed is the mother and father? A lot of members have already guessed mixes, but if the mother or father isn't a Lab, pit, collie, or kelpie, then most of the suggestions thus far way be completely off.

Mix or purebreed, he is still adorable. :3

The only other suggestion I would make in addition to my other suggestions is Staffordshire bull terrior as part of the mix. I really think there is some sort of "bull" in this puppy. I could be always be wrong.

Thanks for all the replies and breed suggestions guys! Here are some more pictures of the little guy. He's certainly the little spitfire! Right now I'm thinking he might be part lab judging by the 3rd pic...

I still don't see any Bully in him lol He's some cute! Judging by the paws, he should be about 30-40lbs max :)
