would this be a suitable tank?

gettin another new betta soon and I want to make him as comfortable as I can with my, well, limited budget...

one fish, without the divider of course, mini heater, and a tetra whisper 1-3 gal filter

Yes, most deffinately. I have those filters too and I love them! I have many Elite small filters and I hate them, but I love these Tetra ones.

oh thats good to hear, considering it was $10 at walmart I wasn't so sure... dont have any idea how to cycle tho, is the filter useless if I dont cycle the tank?

The filter is not usless, even if the tank is not cycled, it will still help get ickies out, but it can be hard to cycle a 2.5 gallon tank (though I have heard of people doing it online here)
You cant have the betta in it AND cycle it
Though if you do that, you will hve to have more frequent water changes or something... Im not an expert on cycling tanks.....

So Im guessing its only 20 online?
I know at petsmart you can get a 2.5 gallon tank for 12 (no filter)
