my new lil man

Hey guys! New to the forum. Was hoping to get some help.

My brother bought me my first betta and his new little tank. Coolest birthday present for sure! Trouble is...I'm having a hard time coming up with a name for this little guy. Was hoping for some input from some fellow betta lovers.

I was also looking for opinions of his finnage. I was thinking super delta heart variation of a double tail? Agree? Disagree?

O_O my jaw literally dropped, he is amazing!!!!! His coloration is so unique, I've never seen a betta with that shade of turqoise before!! As for tail type, I'd say he's a halfmoon doubletail. His dorsal fin reminds me of a sail on a ship!

Thanks guys! He was a lucky find at PETCO. I asked my brother to choose one he would want to keep. He's got a beautiful red HM I've been envious for a while.

@Indyfish Depending on the angle his color goes from a pretty soft aqua to an intense turquoise. I'm loving his color for being a solid. And i hesitate to call him a HM because he seems just shy of a full 180.

Here's another pic of him bearding for the camera. :)

I adore DTs! My first betta was a DT from Petco :) I also LOVE your betta's smooth dragon scaling! I'm usually not a fan of dragons because their scales are so inconsistent, but yours is just fantastic!

I'm not sure where dragonscale came in. I may not completely understand the concept of a dragonscale...I'm a newbie enthusiast after all. Can someone please explain? I know this is probably the wrong forum for it....but color me confused.

Thanks for all the compliments on my new boy!

Still hoping for name suggestions. :)
