Dragon doesn't seem to be into hiding much, he's very nosey, oh and his favorite pastime seems to be liberating the water onion plants. He digs them up every day.

I remember PewPewPew had a boy that uprooted her onion plants too. I wonder what it is with them? Your tank is awesome and Dragon is very pretty. He was lucky to find you. :)

Well I guess it doesnt take much to uproot them, you may already know this, but you have to get them to stay in the substate by the roots but not cover the bulb or it will rot. They are a bit top heavy. He probably just has to push on them a little bit to get them to float.

Thanks everyone, now I am sure I could probably find it on the forum somewhere, but what are the ideal water params for bettas? At the moment his water tests are 0 nitrites 0 ammonia 5.0 nitrates, 7.6 pH, and temp in his tank is at 78 deg F

How often do you test your water and do changes?

Oh yeah one more question, do you think he is a delta tail?

You want the pH to be stable Dragon will adapt to your water pH and I recommended that you do not change the pH unless you need to:

Ammonia and nitrite 0ppm
Nitrate 5-10ppm and less than 30ppm
Higher nitrate could affect his immune response, growth, development, and can cause him to go into shock.
Dragon's water temperature is perfect! 5 gallon tank right? If so I'd say once a week clean his tank completely. Every day you could change 25 % of the water or you could even do every other day 50% of the water its totally up to you. Yes I THINK he is a delta tail not sure though Hope I helped!
