Thumbs up Best. Buy. Ever.

So I was downtown, and came across a long fish tank! I looked at the price (previously owned) and it was for....

7.50.

So I bought it
Length: 36 Width: 12.5 Depth: 15.
No idea how many gallons it is but that's all in inches :) I washed it down with hot watwr and vinegar, and rinsed a few times, scrubbing all the way. Now it's all clean, and only "problem" is in the future it may need to have some sealng done, but it doesn't leak, and doesn't need it yet I'll be adding the sorority to it soon! More room for them

That's about 29 gallons I think. And lucky, I wish I could find good deals like that where I live xD

That is awesome.

I can't have such big tanks--not enough room in the apartment. I have one 3.7 gallon, and one 5 gallon, and I told my mum that I'd like a tank for Christmas (just a 2.5 gallon that looks very cool and can fit on my study desk), and she said, "You want *another one*? What are you going to do with them all?"

Well, you know, I thought I'd wear them on my head. Could start the next fashion craze.

Size is a 30 Long I believe (thats the closest to the measurements you listed). Kind of an odd size. But would be awesome to house several boys in a long divided tank (could divide it into 8 parts & be 4" x 12.5" x 15" which would give 3.2 approx gallons each)

Yep, about 30 gal. That is a great price. The cost of that size tank new is the main thing holding me back from a community tank. Well, that and where to put it.

favorite little link of mine... they list pretty much all the common aquarium sizes and measurements 10gal and above: http://alysta.com/books/fishtank.htm

The measurements we take aren't always exact to it as i found out with my tanks so yours is either a 26 flatback or a 30. Great deal!

Haha it was a thrift store! They often carry pet supplies, so i check periodically. There was a 60 gallon terrarium for 20.00! I dont hae a reptile (and where to put it??) with heat lamp, bowl, etc. And cool 30 gallons hey? Yeah I put my sorority in it, the 20 gallon is the breeder tank now with Ghengis the butterfly VT and eggy Marge

.... I put the 29 on the floor because even my desk wont hold the length :/ that and my desk holds the 2 10s. I also now owe my brother for helping me get it home and in the house

Also I put water in it. Came to about 29 gallons with room to spare :o also, I'm getting muscles from all this water bucket lifting
