can't find a good heater.

hello!
i recently got a betta. he's in a 2gal tank w/ a little 7.5w Hydor heater.
the heater i have now is one of the two heaters i tried. the other one being a Tetra 50w preset heater.
they only work when the water is warm. Petco doesn't ship the one i want to Hawaii, a Hydor THEO 25w heater. there's also an Aqueon 50w heater, but they only had the higher wattages in stock.

i tried looking around on ebay and amazon. is there any other places i could check, in-store or online?

i use this heater right hear except a 50w for my 10g tank works really good i would say amazing no problems yet set me tank up perfectly at 79F on the dot it adjusts by it self when the water cools down a little it turns right on

You can use a 25 watt heater, just be sure to use a thermomoter to make sure it doesnt over heat. I have several different ones in my small tanks. Since things are way over priced in alaska, i searched ebay for a bit till i found some 25 watt heaters that were cheap and didn't have the "will not ship to AK/HI" Or Shipping is more for AK/HI" disclaimer. It makes me mad because we ARE part of the US and a flat rate priority mail box costs the same . Anyways,

These ones work well

and I have one of these as well. I think they are older and discontinued but it works well and is shatter proof which is good because i actually had a heater shatter inside a tank once

Adjustible ones seem to be more accurate then preset. I have a tetra 50 watt and it cant even keep a 2 galllon tank warm.

This place has the THEO

Weird....I found my hydor Theo on Amazon for $18 with free shipping. It's shipped by entirelypets.com but it's cheaper If you use the Amazon link. The entirelypets.com site doesn't appear to have any restrictions to Hawaii. Here's a link: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0006J...4028010&sr=8-1

I've used the preset marina c10, but it's not effective, it's based on ambient room temp. I switched to a theo hydor, and it's wonderful, keeps it with in 1 degree of 80. Heating a 2.5 gal tank
