Some new arrivals to the sorority

I had two new arrivals from interstate arrive today, so I thought Id post up some updated photos of my sorority. Its 35 litres (9 gallons) and includes eight females and one plakat male who has no problems living with the rest of the girls. So far it has been set up for 4 or 5 months now.

Everyone will be moved to a custom built 80 litre tank after Christmas as I will be integrating another female into the sorority, and love spoiling my girls It is very well planted, so aside from a few nipped fins every now and then, it is fairly peaceful.

Definitely looking to start up another sorority in the new year. They are so much fun.

One of my new females. I've called her Strawberry for obvious reasons

The other new girl. She is a bit more shy but was hanging around with Mrs Derp

Mrs Derp. She got squished in between the filter and tank wall and is a bit... 'slow'

Group shot of the girls. You can see fatty Strawberry in the background

My PK male (right) with an imported female (Patsayawan)

A slightly blurry shot of my blue Cambodian female

I thought Id post up some pictures of my some of my other girls. Obviously people are reading even if they are not replying.

Both of these tanks are 12 inch cubes and require only minimal weekly maintenance. They receive only indirect natural sunlight, and the occasional dose of Seachem Flourish.

The monster marble girl was an import from Thailand. The other Cambodian was a pity purchase from the local pet store. I've had her about a year now and she's one of my favourite bettas.

It was hard to get any decent photos of her as she gets over-excited whenever I am around, and an empty 4ft tank is currently obstructing my access a little.

I purchased him along with 4 other females originally. They were only very young when I bought them, but I had my suspicions he was a male PK from the start.

However, he gets along very well with the girls and aside from the time he built a bubblenest above the filter, shows no real sign he's any different from them. He sometimes bullies the HMPK female in there, but she's always getting in the way of him and the other dominant female.

Thanks. He used to be a lovely blue and white marble but turned solid a week after I got him

The original four used to attack Mrs Derp all the time because she had no idea of what personal fish space was. Now, they've realised she's harmless so she just swims peacefully around.

Thanks. I was surprised when I found the original five at my not-so-local fish store as usually all we get here is blue and red VTs. I'm now stalking our transhipper's youtube channel in the hope of snatching up a nice pair of monster marbles to breed over the summer. I would love to have a sorority of females that I have bred myself.
