Mystery snail/cherry shrimp in a 2 gal?

I just saw some mystery snails at petco and they are SOOO cute! I also like the cherry shrimp from my LFS. would either be suitable, i would just get one. I do not currently have a filter, so I am afraid it will make the water too dirty.

I wouldn't go for the snail - they have large bioloads. 5 RCS would be very cute, though, if your betta doesn't eat them. :) They have a tiny bioload.

Some bettas do, some don't. Some just chase them around. I've had two bettas that ignored the shrimp totally, but my sorority girls and my current male chase them (I don't know if they've managed to eat them, though - my shrimp are pretty savvy).

wow, the ones I saw seem a bit too big for a betta to eat, I surprised that they could fit them in their mouth!

mystery snails poo worse than any fish. I have 3 mystery snails, 9 female bettas. The snails put out more than the girls do.

You can get one or two ghost shrimp... they are like 35 cents so a cheap test.... to see if your bettas will be okay with the cherries... but surprisingly... some bettas will tear into cherry shrimp.... and you'd be surprised at the ones who do it, my first betta, a female named Tihs... was INCREDIBLY aggressive, but she tolerated the shrimp in her 2.5 gallon AMAZINGLY well.... and my more mellow male Grendel has eaten one or two, lol, best thing to do is test ;)

but yes, a snail has WAY to heavy of a bioload to be in anything less than 5 gallons :/
