Question White skin like stuff

Hi, new here. I have a male beta that is two years old. He's crippled. Mangled fins, swims sideways. That's not what bothering me but I thought I would add that in. He has this white skin like stuff I saw come off his head. Never seen it before and it's gone now. I noticed it when I checked in a on him earlier. Is this normal?


Housing
What size is your tank? 2 gallon
What temperature is your tank? room temp
Does your tank have a filter? no
Does your tank have an air stone or other type of aeration? no
Is your tank heated? no
What tank mates does your betta fish live with? none

Food
What type of food do you feed your betta fish? beta bites
How often do you feed your betta fish? twice daily

Maintenance
How often do you perform a water change? once every 2-3 weeks
What percentage of the water do you change when you perform a water change? 100%
What type of additives do you add to the water when you perform a water change? water conditioner

Water Parameters:
Have you tested your water? If so, what are the following parameters?

Ammonia:
Nitrite:
Nitrate:
pH:
Hardness:
Alkalinity:

Symptoms and Treatment
How has your betta fish's appearance changed? Just that white stuff that came off
How has your betta fish's behavior changed? hasn`t
When did you start noticing the symptoms? 20 mins ago
Have you started treating your fish? If so, how? n/a
Does your fish have any history of being ill? He has mangled fins. I believe he must of has fin rot before I got him, that mangled his fins. No black edges though currently.
How old is your fish (approximately)? 2 years

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Pictures would help a lot. Looking at what you filled in you are making water changes far to far apart. Multiple times a week would be best for that tank. His feces and waste will accumulate over time and literally burn him. You should also consider getting a filter and heater. They are not too expensive. Maybe ask for a nice 5 gallon tank set for Christmas?

He is getting old for a betta and in those conditions im certain hes starting to feel it. If you cannot get a filter and heater than please place his tank somewhere warm, if not already and do far more water changes.

I am unable to show you photos at this time. I am changing Talyn to a 5gal tank in the New Year. I will be adding on a heater as well. Plus I plan to do more water changes. Thanks for the help.
