this particular snail appears to be a common pond snail

This would be a trumpet snail (or these since I can't link to them)

and these are apple or mystery snails

I have no experience with any other kind of snail so unfortunately I defer to someone who has. Nerites are small, only breed in brackish water (meaning no population explosion) not entirely sure what they look like. Google image search if your friend

Does your mother have any live plants? If I had to guess I'd say it was some kind of pond snail (they stay really small) that came in on live plants. I don't think they would cause any problems for you aside from breeding like crazy. If you have a bit of algae growth they might help keep it down. The downside of snails is that they are rather messy and poop a lot. If you have a sand substrate this is bad and will cause pockets of noxious gas.
