I'm trying to cup train the babies. Start them while their young and hopefully they learn, going well so far. It's really hard getting them out of nets-so tiny & fragile.

Well since you're in a dorm, it's probably warm enough inside to not really have to worry about a heater right now. And 1 gallon bowls aren't so bad, better than cups. but the fins should grow back on their own, just keep their water clean. but yes, caves would be nice, give them something to hide in so they can recuperate or just hide. Just keep an eye on them, they should be fine. betta bulbs however... eh, not a fan, fake one's are better. you can use any fake plants, even ones for home decoration as long as they aren't painted at all and don't have glitter, just dyed cotton or silk is good.
