Yup! A lot of bettas have white on their fins there.. even solid colored ones.
The only time you have to worry when you see white is if you see cottony fuzz on the white.
He looks good :)

What size tank are you keeping him in? And what is your water change schedule going to be? (Just so we make sure the fins stay healthy :) )

That is definitely a boy :) Girls have short fins.. as males (all but one type) have long fins.

Half a gallon I would just do 2 50% and 1 100% per week that is all that is needed..

The 2.5 filtered would be 2 50% per week- 1 water only, 1 siphoning of the substrate. Unfiltered 2.5 it would be 1 50% and 1 100% per week water change.

Sounds like he's going to have a good home :) Don't forget a 15-25 watt heater for the 2.5 and you'll be all set with him.

Hehe yup :) If she paid for a girl, then she got a deal as they tend to be cheaper.
Otherwise, that's 100% boy!

a definite veil tail male, and it is very common to have white ventrals. some bettas, have it as regrowth when their ventrals were damaged. some bettas have it as a natural color. Very lovely boy you have!

Is the betta's name Gale like in the picture? :p if so lol you can just call him Gill? :p keep it close. or change it entirely
