Finally I have my new tank. Need opinions.

YAY! After months! I found a good spot to put it in my house and I finally bought all my equipment. This is what I have:

- 3 (or 3.5 not sure. It looks more like 3.5) kritter keeper.
- Red Sea nano filter (I've ordered it from Big Al's)
- 50W heater
- Small Marina Aquarium LED light.
- Rocks, silk plants, terracotta pots, etc.
- Hikari food pellets.

I'm just missing the fishy that I will probably get after christmas. Sooooo my questions are:
- For people who have experience with kritter keepers and 3 gallons, are they easy to heat?
- How many water changes a week? I was thinking of doing the same that I do with my 5 gallon which is one 50% a week with gravel vaccum because my 3 gallon will have a filter so I'm guessing the water changes need to be less frequent than if it wasn't filtered.

No idea about the filter part but they are easy to heat. I have 4 of them with heaters but mine are 25 watt heaters.

I still do 50% and 100% per week with a filter in my tanks, filters don't remove all the poops and ammonia lol

it's actually either 3 or 3.3 gallons, depends on if it's rectangle or round. I just made a guide to those. lol.

they're very easy to heat, Naraku is in the large round kritter keeper (3 gallons) with the same heater (50W) and it's staying stable at 76*F.

Water changes, i do a 50% water change every week, and at the end of the month, a 100%. I don't use much gravel, so when i do water changes, anything stuck usually let's go and floats so i can see it and scoop it up.

I've just realised something. I put my heater in the tank. It's this one:

And it kind of touches the side of the tank. Does it matter? I know it wouldn't if it was a glass aquarium but this is a kritter keeper. I tried putting it at an angle but it doesn't stay....

Drat... no one saw my question but it's kind of important as I am a little worried. I've touched the side of the kritter keeper and it's just a little warmer. I don't think there's any danger in the heater touching the side of the tank a little but I wanted to make sure before I go get my new fishy. My tank is essentially ready that's why i'm asking.

I wouldn't leave it touching the side in a glass tank either.. If it were me I would find some way to prop it out so it wasn't touching.

Thanks. On Another note, I'm going to brave the crazy day-before-christmas-shoppers and go adopt my second Betta! Yay! Pics to follow later this afternoon!
