Unhappy poor fish was hurt:(

My poor Beta was injured when the wall shelf his tank was sitting on riped from the wall and his bowl shattered! I quickly put some water conditioner into a small coffee cup and filled it with warm water and put him in. he was out of water for a minute flat and was visably shaken and injured, he now has white lines on both of his sides and on his back fins. I was afraid I shocked him with the water because he showed signs of seasure before I put some cooler water in the cup. also his fins were so clamped I thought he had lost them in the fall but within five minuets he finaly showed them and moved them. Ive had him for a month now and he wont eat either, that was the only problem I've had with him till this happened. What should I do for my little betta?I realy dont want him to suffer, can I nurse him back to new? my camera is dead at the moment but I'll post a pic of his injuries by this afternoon, thank you for you time.

Keep things dark and calm. Temperatures at around 78-80 are ideal, so strive for that.

Did he get any cuts from the broken tank? If so, you'll want to keep the water extra clean and be very watchful for signs of infection.

For the not eating, how big was his old tank and how often and how much did you change the water? Also, what was the temperature?

thank you for the response! well he's doing much better and he healed up rather quickly. his tank is room temp I dont have a heating rock for him. his bowl was about 6 cups or a bit more and his new bowl is about 10 cups. I put 3 underwater plant bulbs in with him but they are just starting to take root. Ive only had him for about a month now and on the few ocasions that Ive seen him eat he spits the food out. I tried to spice his food up with garlic and that did nothing. Im going to have to get him some dried bllod worms when I get the money.Oh and I use beta water conditioner with every bowl change, usualy change over half of his water 2 times a week. Have a Merry Christmas!

Keep an eye on the plant bulbs. Mine started to grow but then ended up rotting.
