I was wondering, whenever you get betta's online, witch do you pick to have them sent to you? I know express is highly used, mostly because it is faster. But I was wondering if any of you have ever used Priority? And what the outcome of that was? Were the fish fine? Or was it a DOA? I know money is tight for a lot of people, such as myself, and cannot afford express at times. Any input would be lovely.
I personally wouldn't chance priority, but I'm also in Canada where the weather changes from one minute to the next and I would feed like crap if a Betta died because I didn't put the extra money out on Express. The way I see it... when buying fish online you need to be ready for all the costs that get them to you safely :) If I can't afford Express, I don't buy.
Hey, when I got my first male in the mail, our Post was on strike. I payed $50 to have him shipped by a bus, took 48h. Imagine if I sent by Post? He would have been there for over 2 weeks. Eeks! You could also see if anyone wanted to go in on an order, and split the shipping? I think most will ship 6 bettas in one box.
I've never bought fish online, but I don't think I'd ever risk priority. It's just too big of a risk, and usually if it's a DOA most breeders won't give you a refund because you shipped priority. So when you think about it, express could potentially save you money.
