Personally, I feel that if a rule is in place we shouldn't pick and choose who follows it and who doesn't. Everyone should have to follow it, or your better off not having the rule in place at all.

We shouldn't have to turn off viewing signatures just because some people choose to break established rules. That's punishing people for the fault of the rule breakers.

It is incredibly frustrating to have to scroll down nearly half a page just to read a one line reply because some folks want to write a book and stuff it into their sig, or occasionally, the signature blends into the posts and makes it hard to tell what the actual post is.

Kk thanks, long sigs are annoying because then you have to scrolleven further down the page to read the next thing. I think it should be stricter though. A lot of people with long sigs and it does annoy me.

That's why I also keep mine not so.... bright. I don't mind somewhat long sigs, just the colors... ends up giving me a headache.

There are two issues when dealing with forum signatures. The first is whether or not it takes up more space/annoys other users, which is more of a personal preference. The second, more pressing issue is bandwidth. The more bandwidth used, the higher the cost to keep the site running. A 600x600 banner is going to take up a lot more bandwidth than a 60x200 banner. I'm not quite sure how this particular forum is set up, but I assume bandwidth is an issue (as it has been with many forums).
