hey guys im pyro. i figured id finaly introduce myself in a proper forum and tell you all how i came abouts the forum and betta fish themselves...
anywho i am pyro im from north west MO im 18 years of age. and actualy just recently got my first betta right befor i joined the site. i have had fish befor so im not a compleate newb to aquatics. my family has had many many type of fish in the past from tanks of just ghost shrimp or plecos to guppies. to cicilids.
i am a reptile breeder and own many snakes. mainly ball pythons. as most probly know balls tend to hide almost all day.. not the est thing to watch. lol my family didnt trust me with fish as i didnt show them responsiility.. how can i have no resonsibility with over 300 feeder rats breeding and 20+ ball pythons.. that i pay to care for.. beats me lol.. so i was given a goldie, due to my many tanks in the basement. on a trip to get another fish to put in another tank i found my little guy Blaze. a red ct... i found him at walmart.. he was in realy bad condition.. all his buddys cupped around him were eathr dead belly up and berly alive. fins rotted nearly compleatly off. or they had a orange organ out there lungs.. he was one of the few alive and in best condition... so i scooped him up pretty quick...
getting blaze is how i found this site. i knew color loss was a sign of stress so i wanted to find how fo help him and give him a nice life. i found this site and shared my story... not long after i scooped up 2 more bettas a small betta i thought was a ct fry. but was just a 1in female [now nearly 2in and wanting to breed] and my veil tail male [taipan] that i was the best condition. tiny tail rot and is now all bettr and building HUGE bubble nests.
now thanks to all the people on here that i talked to and gave me help all my little guys are in there own places and im debating on breeding my female and veil soon.. im loving the bettas :) so fingers crossed there.. rose+taipan=lord knows what :) lol anywho its good to meet all of you verry glad i found this site so many nice people :)
