With everything going on, I decided to go forth with releasing the gals who have been waiting so patiently, my live plant is out of QT, and IMO the tank looks great
I ended up having to put Eurydice in "time-out" within the first minute or so, she ripped Omens fins, ripped Anchovy's fin, then proceded to get in a fight with Dragon and Merle at the same time, the second I removed her, everything mellowed out and everyone is doing great...
Sorority consists of:
Ender and Merle (Sisters) marble HMPK
Dragon, Peanut, Omen, Eurydice (sisters) red/black copper dragon HMPK
and Anchovy as the "third-wheel" (female red crowntail)

She has actually mellowed out, I have NO clue who alpha is, but Im guessing it will be Eurydice once she breaks out of jail

Lol, so far it seems that Merle is Alpha.... wasn't expecting that, lol
Ender and Dragon hang out and try to "school" with her, but she is nver impressed
Peanut is usually near Anchovy, but they don't hang out as close as Ender and Dragon do (maybe they will later?)
and Omen goes back and forth between the two groups and harrassing Eurydice
who is STILL be mean through the cup, lol, hopefully she calms down, if not she will be in a 3 gallon

and I fed everyone.... feeding 6 bettas at once is a LOT different than feeding one.... they are SO cute, lol, Merle ate more than I wanted her to, and Peanut didn't eat as much as I wanted her to.... but it was nice seeing all 6 girls (with Dice in the cup nearby, lol) hang out, everyone got along while eating and there was no pushing or being mean... Peanut was just late for dinner, lol

You should so do it... I LOVE it, lol, Im planning to start breeding (not sure when yet... but I do have an idea on who lol) most of the breeders here are great to work with.... using sisters makes starting a sorority a LOT easier, and I know Darkmoon17 (not sure if anyone else does it) offers free culls with the purchase of one betta (I bought my male Orpheous and then I got my 5 girls... though one... who isn't in the sorority... MAY be a boy) Darkmoon has a spawn going on now if your interested, lol, its cheaper and helps breeders not have to kill the "non-breeding" material fish or the ones who are especially small (breeders only have so much room)

Lol, Im afraid that's whats she's going to turn into, lol, Im nervous about letting her "work things out" like I let Omen and Merle do.... they didn't do any damage to each other, but Eurydice damaged Omen in less time :-/

I'm in the planning stages for a sorority myself, so I love seeing threads full of pictures like this one! I can't wait to see how they all get along. Your set-up looks like it's full of places to hide/define territories. Your girls are really cute.

Eurydice was such a wimpy character in the myths, it's kinda funny how aggressive she is as a betta.

Everyone is getting along great right now, all of the chasing and fighting seems to have been centered around Eurydice, lmao, you are so rightm shes def. a character.. but she seems to have calmed down a bit in the cup.... I will probably try to re-intro her Sunday morning... fingers crossed, lmao
