question about tank water.

so i was looking at the the tank from the bottom looking up. i noticed thin film of oily-looking substance at the water surface. it looks like oil floating on top of the water. does anyone know what it is?

What type of water conditioner do you use? I know certain types leave an oily sheen to the water.

i use API Stress Coat that also acts as a water conditioner

That's the same kind that I use and mine does the same thing. It is completely harmless. If you have a filter the current should break it up or if you want you can skim the top of the water with a cup to remove it off the top of the water. Correct me if Im wrong but, it shouldn't harm your Betta at all. =)
