males and infertile eggs

Have you ever had a male tend a lot of infertile eggs, or do they always eat them?

Most males will not tend eggs that are infertile. Some females have been known to make nests and put eggs in there before eating them but generally speaking the fish know when the eggs are infertile and don't wast their time on them.
