Are they new purchases? Do you know what they were being fed? Any signs of constipation or bloat? Your betta should eat, especially once it starts to get very hungry. Also if it is new to its current home, it may be stressed from the move. I have had many bettas refuse to eat during their first day in a new tank or briefly after a water change.

What kind of food? A lot of bettas won't eat "tropical flake" food. They are carnivores and need a meat based food; that means salmon, krill, shrimp, etc. They are also insectivores and generally love frozen or freezedried bloodworms (mosquito larva). Some will also eat live shrimp or other crustaceans.

I have a sorority of 6 girls, and a divided 10 gallon with two males. They are fed a staple of New Life Spectrum Betta Formula, and I give them some Hikari pellets once a week (Hikari is a low grade food made of wheat and generic fish meal, I am only feeding it so I don't have to throw it away), and then a couple times a week they get freezedried bloodworms.

i have a 10 gal tank split with my 2 males, one eats fine the other wont. I tried flakes- no good, blood worms- still nothing, another betta pellet- again noting, im gonna try live brine shrimp but doubt that will work either. their tank is clean and i do water changes when supposed to be done.

I've read that some feed better with live food, so good luck with that. They can tolerate going without food longer than mammals can, so just be persistent.

I've never fed brine shrimp so I'm not sure. Bbs might be too small, but I don't know how long they take to mature.
