Question from some older threads

Hey guys, I was searching around on the site to make sure I'm not feeding my fish too much. I feed him 3 pellets in the morning, 3 pellets or a small scoop of bloodworms at night.

Now, I haven't noticed any bloating or anything with him so I'm assuming this is ok. My question is, I noticed during my search that a lot of people like to fast their betta one day per week. Is this necessary? And if so, why?

Most of the posts I found on this were over a year old, so I'm curious if you guys still do it or if it was maybe some kind of trend that was just happening.

Thanks for any info!

Fasting is just a way to help prevent swim bladder issues. Its better to prevent than to treat, right?
