WHY didn't I do this before!?!

I'm in the process of switching all my tanks from fake to real plants, WOW ! Bubble nests LEFT AND RIGHT! I've never seen them so happy and lively! My next project will be my 40 gal tank which on wednesday I believe I have the day free and I'll be getting more plants, lights, and the only filters that I am currently using are a couple sponge filters. I'm SO pleased with how much it has improved my fish behavior.

Plants being used are:
Anacharis
Cabomba
Water Wisteria
Marimo Mossballs
Anubias
Java Ferns
Lucky Bamboo (leaves above water)

Lights will be 6500 K
Temp ~78

My 5 gal is a NPT the rest are just petco sand with added liquid ferts

the others are 2 divided 10 gal tanks
a 40 gal sorority - which is next on the list to be converted, however it will take time as I need tall plants
a 2.5 gal tank and a 2 gal bowl.

I have pictures of my setups and the biggest bubble nest EVER by my HMPK Hiroki in his 5 gal NPT

In order they are
2.5 gal
2 gal bowl ( more plants will be added, this was an unexpected rescue :D )
5 gal NPT
bubble nest in the 5 gal
two divided 10 gal tanks
sorority not pictured - coming soon!

Looks pretty good. I don't do NPT; I just do low-tec plants. If you wanted to add some floating plants I would recommend water sprite or duckweed. Both are great at giving our little guys some shade. My oldest betta loves to use Duckweed to build his bubble nests. On any morning I can wake up and he has collected all of the duckweed in his space to use in his bubble nest.

yeah I'm looking for that in my area its kind of hard to find.

- I got the floating logs from petco or petsmart in the betta section

- I did one NPT, and its cool but I prefer low tech plants atm. NPT's are messy but they def work I have alot of growth. And my boy built a HUGE nest so he's most definitely happy in it. It sucks that most petstores don't really carry good aquatic plants.

I had to order both the duckweed and water sprite from websites. I have no good petstores within a 30 minute drive. Live Aquarium Plants and AquaBid.com - Your Aquatic Auction Website were two online places recommended to me. I got my duckweed from Carolina Biological and my water sprite from Liveaquaria.com, but I think I will use the first two places next time.
