question about water changes

When changing the water, should I take Logan out and go through acclimation again, or is it okay to let him stay in the tank and refill it with conditioned water?

It all depends on the amount you change. I think any thing above 30%, I think you have to acclimate him.

I'm thinking about the typical 15 percent change each week.

I think you should do more then that. It is better to get all the ammonia and nitirite and nitrate left over, then leave some. If you leave some, it will eventually build up. Unless you have a test kit and it shows that you have absolutely no ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate up the water changes to like at least 30%

For 5 gallons I do a 25-30% water change :) I make sure (using thermometer) to have the added water the same as the original water. It takes some practice! Then I add conditioner and/or stress coat.

For a 5 gal, you should be doing 50% a week and 100% a month (if uncycled). You'll also want to add the conditioner, and wait 5-10 min., before adding the new water to the tank, so not to stress out the fish, and then acclimate in a cup- slowly- adding small amount of water to the cup every 10-15 min. until about 30-50 min.
