Preserving bubblenests?

Prince Kaida has been maintaining the biggest bubblenest I've ever seen him make, and I need to change the water tomorrow. I don't want to destroy all of his hard work. ;-;

Someone on this site told me you can move them using a spoon.

Just moving the water level will destroy most of it. You could try scooping it up in a tupperware container. I've never tried it but would be worth a shot. Let us know how it turns out!

You will still lose it... once the pressure of the air changes and you move water, the bubbles will pop.
If you like looking at bubble nests, try getting IAL... it "holds" bubble nests together and bettas love it!

Think of it this way: your betta is building a bubblenest so large because he feels ready to spawn, which is usually an indication that the water quality is good. So even if you're destroying that nest, doing the water change is actually encouraging him to make others like it by keeping his environment up to par. :)

And it's fun to watch them build new ones.
