My Frodo

So I wanted to show off my new betta, Frodo. My brother knew how sad I was to lose my lovely red betta Kvothe (yes, I like to name my pets after characters from fantasy books) last month so he came with me to the pet shop yesterday and bought Frodo for me as a 23rd birthday gift.

Poor Frodo is missing about 75% of his left pelvic fin so I think he may have had fin rot in the past. He seems a good blue, active, did his first flare, and happily ate some pellets now though so he seems healthy but I'm keeping a close eye on his fins just in case. I can see what looks like it could be the start of some fin regrowth. At the end of the day that pet shop jar was not the place for a healing fish! Tomorrow I'm going to give him his first treat of blood worms. Yum yum!

Sorry about the fuzzy picture quality. He just did not want to strike a pose for me and I was only using the camera in my phone.

He's a cool one! Love the blue. And there's nothing wrong with naming from fantasy books. I almost named my current one Wulfgar instead of Hector.
