Is this Male or Female?

I am pretty sure my local Petsmart is passing off females as males. My daughter picked this pretty one and it was labelled a male. I questioned it so in the car on the way home we peeled back the pricetag and it said female underneath. I am not going to make a big deal with Petsmart since they were replacing my daughter's betta that died after a week.
She would like to know so she can choose an appropriate name.
Thank you for your input.

No problem :) this'll show their finnage really well, making it easier to determine in the end

Looks sort of like a young male to me too, but I'd check for the flaring. Any eggspot?

Probably was a female in the cup and she died, so they put a new label on and a new fish... my best guess. I've seen cups at my local Petco like that, or "baby betta" labels over adult betta labels.
