This is Omlette, the blue veiltail! He's a bit shy. I had him in a 3/4 gallon vase last night (I thought it was 1 full gallon) and he seemed unhappy... he wasn't swimming and he tried to lodge himself into the gravel (which he managed to do half-way by sticking his head into it)! Today I moved him into a triangular full gallon plastic tank that I've had for a couple of years since my sister's betta died (was used as a hospital tank for other fish) and so I disinfected it, rinsed it out several times, and put little Omlette into it. He seems MUCH happier which makes me think that the vase was like an upgraded plastic cup. I don't think he liked it at all. So I put smaller glass pebbles into the tank so he couldn't suffocate by getting stuck in the large ones (mehh) and I put a little 2 inch baby sprig of Anacharis in the middle of it! He hasn't flared ONCE which is a bit suspicious. I know of a lot of bettas who flare very little, but are still caught flaring. Anyway, I moved him to the dining room near the wood burning stove and he's going crazy: the thermometer reads 78 degrees! Well, I'll finally show him to you!
The pic from above shows this weird lighter portion of his head. It's a suspicious wart-like pale growth on his head. VERY slightly protruding though. Any idea to what it is? I'll shut up now ^v^
