Question Eeek! He lost his spots! Normal?

Okay, so I was away from the house for 48 hours. When I got back my betta had lost the spots on his face and his eyes looked a little bit darker. I've only had him a little over a week and I didn't want to be away for so long after I first got him but I had no choice. He looks and acts just as healthy as when I left and everything else seems normal. Is it normal for them to change like that? I don't want him to lose his pretty spots!

These are before and after photos.

It's completely normal for a marble fish to change colors over his lifetime.
The boy in my avatar now has a black and white face and an almost solid body with some white left on the edge of his fins.

I wouldn't worry too much about it if he's acting normally & eating. They do change color as they age (although usually darker, not lighter). They often get lighter when stressed or cold, but if conditions didn't change in your tank, it could just be normal color change from settling in. I have one that looked very similar to yours when I got him (that's him in my avitar), and now (a month later) he's about 90% blue!

It's pretty crazy, I forgot he had been that light until I creeped my own photos on Facebook :P Don't think you have anything to worry about tho :)

Wow, what a difference! To the OP: your fish looks like a marble and marbles change color often so there's nothing to worry about. He's a beautiful fish.
