I am kindof worried about this lil guy....

Hello :) I hope some one can give me a clue as to what is wrong with Kevin. We bought him from Petsmart about a week or 2 ago. He stays on the bottom of his tank and only comes up for air or to eat. He is really small and I think he is a baby. He does swim around the bottom some and kindof flairs when ai put a mirror up to the tank.

Here are my stats I am also pasting a pic
Housing
What size is your tank? .9 gal but we are going today to get a 5 gal
What temperature is your tank? 74 ish
Does your tank have a filter? no
Does your tank have an air stone or other type of aeration? no
Is your tank heated? yes
What tank mates does your betta fish live with? no

Food
What type of food do you feed your betta fish? pellets
How often do you feed your betta fish? 2-3 pellets twice a day

Maintenance
How often do you perform a water change? every couple of days
What percentage of the water do you change when you perform a water change? 50% every other day 100% just once since we have had him But I did take out all of his decorations and clean them with hot water
What type of additives do you add to the water when you perform a water change? Tap water cleaner and a lil stress coat

Water Parameters:
Have you tested your water? NO If so, what are the following parameters?

Ammonia:
Nitrite:
Nitrate:
pH:
Hardness:
Alkalinity:

Symptoms and Treatment
How has your betta fish's appearance changed? none
How has your betta fish's behavior changed? none
When did you start noticing the symptoms? When we got him
Have you started treating your fish? If so, how? No
Does your fish have any history of being ill? none
How old is your fish (approximately)? don't know but he is small for a betta

He might be feeling a little cold and shy right now. Once you get him in the bigger tank, try to keep temperatures stable at 78-80 for him and keep things dark for a little bit.

Once he's settled in, he should theoretically be more social to you. If not he may just be a shy betta that likes to stay near the bottom.

It looks like all you need for him is time, clean water, and warmth.
