Is nitro changing colour?

I went away over christmas and had a friend feed my fish for me. Whe ni got home i noticed a patch of scales had changed from blue to white with a black colour around it. Since then it has grown and now one side of his head is a different colour to the other side. Can anyone tell me whats happpening to my Nitro? Pics included

Housing

Food
What type of food do you feed your betta fish? Hikari betta bio-gold
How often do you feed your betta fish? 2 pellets twice a day

Maintenance

How often do you perform a water change? once a week
What percentage of the water do you change when you perform a water change? all
What type of additives do you add to the water when you perform a water change? conditioner and aquarium salt

Symptoms and Treatment
How has your betta fish's appearance changed? has a white patch on his head and its growing

When did you start noticing the symptoms? 1 week ago

Does your fish have any history of being ill? no
How old is your fish (approximately)? about a year i think

I think you're in luck. It sounds like it's natural marbling taking place and nothing to worry about. Maybe the change of environment triggered the change? Who knows. Beautiful guy. :)

Thanks for your help. Glad its nothing to worry about. Tho there was no change in environment my friend came and fed all 3 of my bettas at my place. :)

This is my new girl.
It's pretty plain color, I was wondering if you any of you think it might change color some more or if that could be it.
I thought I'd post it here hoping somebody could help.

That's not a plain color, she's a beautiful yellow! <3 I'm a sap for yellow bettas. But, I doubt she will change color. You see, marbling is something to do with the genes of certain bettas. It's not something that you can breed for. Sometimes it just happens. :p From my experience, I've seen that it happens more commonly with blue bettas like this guy.

To the OP, if his condition changes at all let us know. If he continues to marble out, let us know and post more pictures. We find this sort of thing fascinating. Hehe.

She definitely stands out from all the other girl bettas my girlfriend and I were looking at when we got her. Thank you for the answer.
