i will see if i can get a picture of it the next time she desires to swim around with her belly in the air.

is it bad that i am more confident in the one with pop eye surviving? :/

Well, judging from Orchid's behavior I can see why things look better for Shadow. :( Swimming upside down is never a good sign and I wonder if the red ovipositor is an indicator of a pretty severe internal infection.

Yeah, probably twice a day with that little cup. But it's good because it's shallow and she can reach the surface easy. Plus, we don't want her to rub her wound on anything so a round cup is perfect.

Pretty much. 48 hrs at the absolute latest. It gets toxic pretty fast.

EDIT: I'm heading off line for a few hours so if you need anything really quick, PM me. Hang in there, Guns. *hugs*

So Shadow is looking much better, her popeye has reduced by about 1/2 overnight.

Orchid has gotten worse. She has stripped up, and wont eat. Also it looks like she is developing a white, cottony fuzz around the wound.

That's great news about Shadow but not so good about poor Orchid. :( The white fuzz could either be excess slime coat or a fungus called saprolegnia that sometimes develops around open wounds.

If Shadow's eyes have improved a lot, then just use 2-3 tsps/gal epsom salt with her. With Orchid, I would actually wait a day and then run a second course of Maracyns on her because her wound is so severe.
