Panda Cory

I had a Panda Cory in my new tank with my Betta, Neons, and Guppy, and after only a few days, he died on me. He seemed to be doing fine. He was feeding off the bottom on food that sunk and such. Is feeding like this not adequate, do they require the bottom feeder disk pellet things, or?

They need their own food such as sinking shrimp pellets and algae wafers. I recommend Omega One brand foods. They also need to be kept in groups of four. They are schooling fish and need to be with members of their own species. If kept alone or even in groups less than four they get stressed which makes them more prone to illness. Did any of the other fish pick on him? Were the water parameters okay? Cories tend to be sensitive to water quality. What size is the tank?

Edit: Just saw it was a new tank. Since cories are quite sensitive to water parameters they aren't suited for tanks that are going through the process of cycling.
