how do you tell a male from a female betta?

I supposedly have a female betta. However, her fins seem a bit long in comparison to the other females I have seen. She's an ordinary betta - not a crown or anything. Is there a way to tell if she's actually female or was mislabelled in the store?

It is possible she was mislabeled... happens all the time.
Easiest way would be to post a picture.
But males will have long pectoral fins and females have a white eggspot.
