Teeny Tiny Female :)

Today I went to the pet store because my mother-in-law needed doggy treats, so while she was looking, I started paroozing the fish section ;) I've never had a female betta but I saw this little tiny crowntail girl, and I couldn't help myself!

She is gorgeous colors, it looks green in the picture, but she's actually turquoise and red. Im wondering why she is so little though, almost 1/4 the size of my males. Is she just very very young?

I included a picture of her in her tank, and Oscar in the exact same tank, for size comparison.

She's probably very young, perhaps only 3 months old at the most. She may need very small foods for a while so be prepared to crush up her pellets. She's a beauty!

Thanks :) She's more gorgeous in person, my cell phone camera doesn't do her anywhere close to justice. I'll try crushing the pellets or breaking them in half maybe. I already buy very small ones because Oscar is a picky eater, but she rejected a pellet earlier. Ill try a half tomorrow when she's more settled into her new home.

She is super cute! Do you have a name for her yet? My first and only female was super tiny when I got her. She is still pretty small and she is almost 2.

I've named her Kiora, after Kiora Atua, a merfolk planeswalker in a game I play, here's a picture of Kiora Atua: Kiora

I think my little fishy will be strong like her some day, even though she's so little now :) She's my first baby fish and my first female hehe
