He'll come around All the bettas I've had, they take anywhere from a minute to 3 weeks to eat o.o Even now, my new boy Jekyll won't eat. he's more entertained to watch me, or wander around his 20 gallon tank.

Tell me about it -.- Dally only likes the stupid bowl (I hate how it is 1. one gallon or so 2. distorts the fish!) and not the 3 gallon. -sigh- picky picky! Worse than children!!!

Well I'm glad to hear it's normal:) He really is such a picky eater. I feel like he just flips an upturned tail in the direction of any pellet. x)

And I think it's funny how he prefers a different tank/bowl!

To answer your original question;
a young cambodian VT. Or at least from a cambodian line, but definitely a VT. If he is young, his tail should grow longer as he ages and it should curve downwards.

Bettas could be very picky eaters. All of mine are. But after a few days of fasting they should accept what ever food you offer. .... up to you - submit to you guy's desire or make him eat what ever you feed him.

Congrats on your gorgeous boy.

LOL! Same with my Shimmer! She only gets 5 pellets every 2-3 days. If I try to feed her everyday she turns up he little nose at pellets and death stares me until I drop in a freeze dried bloodworm or two! Hehe! If I had seen myself obsessively posting on a betta fish forum while a small blue fish death stares me for freeze dried bloodworms (which used to totally freak me out) I would have called you crazy!
