What just happened?

So I was walking into my bathroom where I keep my boys Buckminster (HM cellophane) and Casper (opaque white PK) in a divided tank. Normally Casper is on the left with the filter and Buckie is on the right, always in view. Today however, I walked up to see Casper swim eagerly up to me on the RIGHT side and Buckie nowhere in sight! Panicking, I looked all over, and found Buckminster chilling in the plants on the LEFT. I looked them over and there wasn't a single nip taken out of both of their fins. They just switched! I am now freaking out about fixing the divider but it will be hard because it is a bow tank. I honestly thought I had gone insane for a second!

Oh god! I would have been screaming like crazy! WOW. I'd definitely get that fixed.

Update!! went to go check on them not even five minutes after posting this and Buckmin had gotten through again! So, I moved the fastest I have ever moved in my life and cupped the first one I could reach. Now Casper is sulking in a cup while I try to figure this out!! aaaaaarrrghhh so scary. I was literally swearing the entire time. They were only flaring at each other, so no damage, but sheesh. I'm thinking of putting some sponge in where the gaps are, would that work?

That might work, but it would be good to get some aquarium glue.

yeah but the divider doesn't go all the way to the edge of the glass. That's why I was considering stuffing some sponge up in there. Either way Casper will be chillin' in a cup tonight.

A sponge should work quite well

I'd put them in temp tanks and try to do the divding with aq sealant. if you can't then I'd try using rocks or decore maybe to anchor it?

check if they can squeeze in from under the divider. That's what mine did a few times.

they can't go under, gravel is 2 inches and the divider goes all the way down to the bottom through that. The issue is that it's a bowfront and the divider it came with is straight -_- I can't use sealant cause there's nothing to seal to. That's why I came to my original conclusion of stuffing sponge in the open space in the bow part of the tank. Casper's upgraded to a tupperware on a heating pad until I get this figured out, poor sod was the first one I could cup even though Buckminster started it.Or he could get the 5gal bucket... it would probably be the best time of his life!

My guys have done that a few times - they go under the divider if I dont push it all the way back down after water changes.
