So I was at petland (lfs for me) just killing some time looking at the bettas. They usually have most of there bettas in vases displayed alot nicer than many other stores. One of the fish guys came and told me there were other bettas in some of the tanks as well. So I went looking around. I was watching a black crowntail in one of the vases for quite a while and I just loved him. I went looking around in the tanks after a bit and I saw a little white male crowntail. I always knew I would get a white crowntail and he looked spectular. I felt more sorry for the black crowntail in the small vase so I got him. He is much bigger and has a better spread than the white one did. After I got him home and in his tank I was able to observe him much closer. Something seems not quite right about his caudal and it looks like he may be a DT crown or perhaps a have a second dorsal fin. Its very interesting anyways. When he settles I will post some pics.
POST UP SOME PICS. I am dying to see this mystery fish. Literally. At PetSmart I was amazed at the quiality of the animals there, and I wanted a beautiful pinkish red marbled betta but unfortunately I could not convince my father to buy him because we didn't feel bad for it...lol
so now im worrying because he has not eaten much since saturday when I got him. I have tried freeze dried bloodworms and hes had a few of those but he spits out betta flakes. Oh these finicky guys.
If flakes don't work, you can try betta pellets. They are usually easier on the water, making it less dirty. Just make sure its high in protein. There is another tip I've read about something with garlic juice and food, but I've never tried it myself. If you can find it on here it might help.
Hey pucky,
Thanks for the comments. I actually do have some of the garlic stuff. I will have only ever tried it once with one of my guys who wouldn't eat for nothing and it didn't seem to make a difference. Maybe i wasn't doing something right. I will have to do some reasearch on it more.
