My betta Tai has holes in his tail fin... I noticed that the holes had yucky yellow bordering on it.... I wish I could do pics but my cam sucks :/ Like the holes have yellow on it.
Hello! I'm sorry Tai isn't doing well, but let's see what we can do. Please try your darndest for any picture, but its understandable if the camera really can't do anything for us. I see you've put some details about your fish on here already, but could you answer any more questions so that someone else could help you other than myself? I'm not entirely sure on this, but I can help you get started to get some real answers.

The water is kind of cold for one thing. What was in the new tank before? What is it made out of? What decorations are in the bowl- any plastic plants or something? Sometimes they create holes in the fin.... but for the yucky yellow... someone else will have to help you with that.

Tai is pink in the body and violet on his tail. No black on it.
I would increase your water changes to twice a week for a few weeks, just to keep the water extra clean. This will prevent the holes from getting infected. They sound like normal rips/tears for now but keep an eye on them. If at any time you see lots of black, post back because that could be a sign the holes are infected.
I know, I understand what you mean. In mammals and humans, yellow is often a sign of infection. But not so much in fish. In fish, signs of infection are more black or red.
If you want, you can also add 1 tsp of aquarium salt per gallon to his tank, predissolved in a little tank water. This will help fight off any further infection. Don't keep him in the salt any longer than 10 days, 14 days absolute max. When you do a water change, redose only the amount of salt you took out. So if you take out a gallon, add 1 tsp back in. If you take out 2 gallons, add 2 tsps back in.
Yes, I should think so. With clean water and the AQ salt, the holes should heal up and the yellow should go away. Keep an eye on it and post back if anything changes. Good luck, BettaSnap. :)
