so why is my water STILL cloudy?

I put this sand in my tank..

And now my tank in my honest opinion looks like crap!

My water is SOOO cloudy I asked my co-worker (petsmart pet care department manager) if it would settle and go away and she said yes.

It's been at least two days and there hasn't been a single change!!

I did rinse the sand out the way instructed on the bag, cut a corner and rinse it through and pour out the water etc.

But this is just plain ridiculous I can't be thrilled with my tank without clear water!

Your supposed to pour enough sand into a bucket and keep washing it out until the water is virtually clear

You should be able to do a few water changes. It'll clear up.

You mean like pour all of the water out and change it? Wouldn't it just cloud again when I pour the new water in? I'm honestly starting to hate sand already..

When I rinse sand, I empty it all out into a bucket and using a sieve and separate container, rinse it enough times that the water runs clear. Sand can take a long time to rinse properly.

I would remove 90% of the water and then siphon it slowly back into the tank. If you use scrunched up newspaper or a plate on the bottom of the tank, it will allow you to add water without disturbing the substrate.

I have the same sand in my Edge. I put it all in a bucket and ran water through it untill it was clear. Took a while.
It will clear as you do water changes. Not having a filter on the tank makes it take longer to clear too.
It looks good when it does clear.

I just did a water change it does look a bit better not as bad as it was but not perfect. I'm not gonna do another one for about a week or two because Dahvie is probably sick of being thrown back into his little cup. I don't wanna stress him too much.

I would get a filter, it clears much faster that way. Even though your gaffer is sick of his cup, you can't leave his tank without a partial water change for two weeks :3

You might want to take Dahvie out of his tank and do another rinse of the sand. A REALLY good rinse. :) I have sand, and I love it! Don't give up- it's easier to take care of than gravel, once you get the hang of it. :) Once it clears it will never cloud again.
