HELP Murky water/unhappy Dale

I change my bettas' tanks weekly, but this last time (3 days ago) Dale (my blue betta)'s tank got really murky. His behavior is not normal. He tends to stay on the bottom of his tank behind his plants. My other 2 betta (Chip and Minnie) have similar behavior but their tanks are clear. All 3 seem to be lethargic. They are all eating normally and reacting to the tricks I have taught them. I am really worried about Dale though. We just lost our blue crowntail Mickey a few weeks ago for no apparent reason. ANY help or suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated. Dale, Chip, and Minnie will thank you.

In a one gallon tank, you should be doing two 100% changes a week, the ammonia levels get to high otherwise. I tried a filter with a betta and he did not enjoy it, so don't worry about not having a filter. Also, you need to use dechlorinator, the chlorine will kill the fish. Seachem Prime is supposed to be great. Make sure with the test kit that you buy liquid test kits, they're more accurate that strip kits. The experts could help more, but what I said above should help a lot. Hopefully the experts will be along soon to help.

Thanks. I tried changing out the tanks again and the water has stayed clear so far. No need for the dechlorinator as I use spring water for the tanks. I found they do better with it than with the chlorine eliminator. I also removed the marbles from the bottom of the tanks and weighted the plants down. So far so good :) I recently got another female and separated my males tanks...for some odd reason this also seems to have improved the morale of all my babies.

I'm happy that your fish are better. Don't fall behind on the water changes and they should stay happy for a long time.
