And you might want to not have Anubis buried. The part were the roots come from will rot. Same with the java fern.:) btw love the tank!

The rhizome is exposed :) Just the roots are in the sand. I took the pic shortly before pulling it out just a tad. I was waiting for the sand to settle a bit before tweaking the plants.

Hehe. Every time I messed with the sand, air bubbles caught a patch of it and rose to the surface. That stuff floats for a bit if it catches an air bubble lol.

He's still a bit upset I moved this around on him....but now he has even more hiding spots!

If I can find some black sand like it, I may switch the river pebbles out of my other tanks. I like the look.
