Floating plants?

What are some aquarium plants that float, and don't need to be rooted down?
I have a java fern and some type of anubias, but I want some variety for my girls 2.5gal. ^-^

If you're looking for a plant you might find at an LPS, look for wisteria.
It comes in long stems but you can separate it in sections and float it.
Other than that, there's a few like water lettuce, hongworth, frogbit, and duckweed.
Check Aquabid, there's a section of just floating plants.

Wisteria is very pretty. I'll try and find that.
All those top floating plants grow way too fast, they'd cover a 2.5gal in like 2 days :p

Java moss, anacharis, most Hygrophila, and hornwort are some good ones

pennywort can be left to float, my girls would nap in it all the time

asian water grass works good and guppy grass

Anubias can float. My LFS has a large one they float and it does fine.

It's gonna be wisteria, anarchis, hornwort or pennywort..
Gilbert has an anubias in his tank already, I want something different looking for her.
On a side note the anubias' roots have taken over and are huge. I can't get them to stay down very well.. is it okay to trim them?

this post has been pretty helpful to me as well. my boyfriend and i have been looking for a floating plant for our tank as well, thanks everyone who had suggestions for plants!

Yes! Thank you everyone! I exchanged the potted plant for a wisteria. Almost got a hornwort but the lady talked me out of it lmao. It's just floating on top right now :D I might split it and put some in the Gilbert's tank and give her the java fern. But she liked it! :D
