You are joking, right?! Tank find at Goodwill....

I went to Goodwill today for their 50% off everything sale so that I could stock up on towels, fleece blankets, and flannel & fleece baby blankets for the rat kids (well, got a whole garbage bag full for like $18!). Of course, I had to wander around the rest of the store.....

I came across a All Glass Aquariums MiniBow 5 box and it said $6.99 on the outside (so it was really like $3.50 during the 50% everything sale). I opened it up and it surely was one of those tanks....also including a Hydor Mini heater and some other junk (old filter cartridges, a sponge, and a gross rock deco...throwing away!). The tank was pretty dirty, but I was hoping it wasn't scratched up since it was acrylic - but hey...a Hydor Mini...I hoped it worked at least!!

(the creepy cats are apparently my helpers...)

When I got home I pulled it out of the box and inspected it more. I really is dirty!...

The heater....

After I wiped it down I held it up to the light and saw that it is pretty scratched up, but I am sure it will still look nice for a betta once there is sand/plants/water in there!...

Even the bulb in the hood works! I'll still replace it though, since I don't know how old it is. I'm also not sure if the heater works yet..need to test that out.

Didn't really need ANOTHER tank (since we have so many "cheap finds" in the garage already), but what the heck !

Nice find! I wish I could find one like that! Well I did a few years ago at a garage sale $5 for the tank, filter, rocks, and decor! Exact tank but mine is a dark blue lid. If you haven't had one of these yet I would not recommend using the light unless you use some type of filter. Mine got really filmy over the top when the light was on. Otherwise I love it!

Nice find!!!!!!!

And I love the picture of the cat "helpers". Cats are always so curious whenever something new comes into their space.

How good are cheap tanks? :p I'm being offered a FREE 4ft tank with stand, hood and heater, but my parents are saying no! :(

oh wow!! Nice find! I'm a little jealous because I love finding a good deal (such as yours), yet I have no space for another tank!! Water, plants, and a vibrant betta will take the scratches right out of it!! Cannot wait to see when it's set up!

I'm not even going to pretend I'm not mad-jealous of you right now. My goodwill never has any fish stuff. You stink :P I'm happy for you. I guess. Whatever...*cough bitter cough*

Seriously though, good find.
You best post some pics of whoever goes inside it.
