Talking Hi Yall from Washington, DC!

Hello everyone! I'm a newbie!

After passing by them in my local pet store for years, my boyfriend as a surprise yesterday bought me a female crowntail betta. I couldn't be more excited setting up the tank properly and learning all I can, but I'm worried about killing this poor fish! Her name is Lucy, and she is great!

Lucy is living in a dorm room right now where proper heat is a current struggle. She certainly brightens up the place! Other than that, my present concern is making sure the filter isn't too strong and secretly sucking her up.

We've made it over 24 hours and I am psyched! Hopefully the district warms up soon...

Hi and welcome to the forum.
An adjustable heater would make Lucy a lot happier because stable water prams, incl. temp. is important.
Congrats on your new girl.
