Dropsy

I'm pretty sure Sazzer has Dropsy. He always liked to hang in his cave and never was the type of fish to be real active so I completely missed it. Until he stopped coming up for food I didn't even think anything of it. He has sunken eye sockets, pinecone appearance and is lacking in color. I know its too late for him, but I want to know what are my options to euthanize? I know some of them are just too out of my league to do. I care too much to ever take a knife to him, is there any other ways? I can't stand to see him suffer anymore.

Sorry for the double post but I can't edit my first. I was doing a little prying and I want to ask opinions.

There is a technique I found using clove oil and then vodka to euthanize a fish humanely. Would this be recommended?

*edit* nvm he just died :*( R.I.P. Sazzer
