Flaring + Bubble-Nesting like Crazy!

So today I was out for most of the day and I left my desk lamp on by accident. Apparently this heated the water from the normal temp of 78F to 83F, and now he's going crazy. his blue marbling is really bright, he's flaring a lot, and he keeps trying to make a bubble nest (the filter keeps destroying it and I think he's getting frustrated).

Should I be alarmed, or is the change in temp. making him more active than usual? Or is it something else?

Sorry this is late but I think he's fine. I guess he just likes the warmer water. :)

Have to agree.. most likely the change in temp. Most breeders will keep the temps 82-84 when breeding, and people who have bettas kept at 80 rather then 78 say their bettas are more active.

I would suggest possibly going down to a 40w bulb if it's heating the water up that much- I have yet to have a 40 watt heat up any of my keepers.

Also, baffle the filter, as males tend to not like currents and he may want to continue building his nests without disruption lol.
